124. At the Right Time
Do you know who God is; I mean on a personal level? Do you know of His character? His sense of humor? Do you feel God should be doing something about your situation and yet nothing has happened for so long? If you are there, that's a truly frustrating place to be in!
Isaiah 61 offers words of comfort. Those words of comfort occur at the right time, in God's time. Isaiah 61:1 "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound."
The Lord has anointed me ... those words took for so long to occur. At least I thought so. The sense of being lost in the wilderness was still fresh on my mind. The inner healing, which I longed for, took time. A long time. It occurred in His timeline. Not mine.
When the right time occurred, He promised to "give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified" (Isaiah 61:3).
This meant that the inner healing I sought for and desired, began to occur in the right environment, at the right place and time. It occurred when I was ready for it all. He then sent me to heal the brokenhearted. Not any sooner. Just right on time. Looking back, I see clearly His Fatherly love upon me as He gave His anointing to help others.
What about you? Is your own patience in waiting for His timing a virtue yet to be learned for you? It certainly was that for me. Just be patient. Easier said than done. He will give you everything you need to fulfill the tasks He has created for you.
