108. What are Your Wounds Like?

Wounds can be physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual.

What wounds do you carry? You carry them; we all have them. Physical wounds that are easily seen, seem to be more accepted by others. They are treated, medicated and the pain is usually covered with medication.

Soul wounds are the wounds others cannot see. They are very present; they break us and leave us fragmented without treatment. Emotional healing occurs when the past no longer controls our lives, feelings, or thoughts. Much easier said than done.

Spirit wounds create distance from God. They occur when we live through our own understanding and without Him who created us. Wounds of the spirit create pride and distance away from the Creator.

God is yearning for us all to release the wounds of the past and the present though Him. Psalm 147:3 states "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Exodus 15:26 affirms "If you diligently listen to the voice of the Lord you God, and do what which is right in His eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all statues, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer." He is your healer when you follow His commands. He heals your broken heart. This often means He will provide helpers for you seek to do so, just as He assigned them throughout the Bible.

The bible encourages for you to heal from your wounds. It urges for you to prayerfully seek out the support you need. It requires for you to choose to heal from your wounds. It is not an easy road. It is a road that enables you to live the God-given life you were given. Choose healing! It will provide eternal consequences for you!
