100. How is Your Self-Control? The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Who is directing you? Better asked: who are you allowing to render you? God has a Divine way to control you. Direction will occur only WHEN you allow yourself to be led by the Father. When you are hurt and wounded it is difficult to trust and have the self-control to sense the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Forward movement occurs only when you enable the Father to take the reins of your life. Easier said than done. What has happened with your own attempts? What success or positive results have you had with them?

Seeds of Kingdom article, May 26, 2019 stated "...the Holy Spirit should be welcomed to direct our human spirit, this then constrains the soul and body to reflect the will of God." You own past traumatic experiences can fight against this in order to "protect" your soul. Is it really better with what you know - or can you trust the Father?

Way back, I liked and followed what was familiar. When that familiar changed to increased aggression within my family I tried to make it better by easing the situations with more support, understanding, conversations and love. When that aggression then increased, withdrawal occurred within me. With that withdrawal also came anxiety, sorrow and regret mixed with depression. I had much to learn.

My teenage daughters painted a story of the "Two Wolves." In it the old Cherokee answers to his son about "a battle that goes on inside people. ... One is evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other is good. it is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

Only when I went to the lowest point did I choose to follow the Father. What about your journey? Food for thought, isn't it.
