86. How is it Possible for Me to be Saved?
Have you doubted whether you are acceptable to God with all your baggage? I have. When you asked Him into your heart you are absolutely accepted. That's truly all it takes!
Assurance of eternal life begins truly the moment you accept Him. God is and remains close to the brokenhearted. No one (else) can separate you from His love. No one! In Luke 4;18, Jesus states "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed." Many have talked about their doubts, of their loved ones believing differently than they do. This has made them silent and often resentful. Showing love for others through Him, often with just actions, provides a way forward in relationships. Many learned this the hard way by saying things about the Lord that were taken the wrong way. I certainly did.
Regarding your doubts, there is a verse I can point to that provides a clear answer. It's in Psalm 23:6 "I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." You are saved by His grace. Not by actions. His grace is enough. He loves you with all your baggage.
One of the tasks clearly given to believers by the Bible is for you to share the good news about your belief. This is easier said than done. The Lord wants you to share His salvation and grace. How can you complete this by your actions when words are rejected?
Galatians 5:22-23 provides fruits of the spirit. They are "...love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law." With the vast numbers of unbelievers around us, the most loving approach forward is to provide love, caring and gentleness. Just like Jesus did.
He loves you. Lean on Him with your doubts. Lean on help with your pain. We are not to live this life alone. Please mark "like" if you liked this post and share freely. Blessings!
