64. Insight into the word of HOPE

Have you ever felt there is a bait dangling right in front of you over something you chose to avoid? There is a huge bait over what you are hoping not do? Romans 7:19 states "For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice." Addictions to sugar is a great example of this, as is alcohol, drugs or spending money. Smells and looks good and you are tired, grumpy, lonely or hungry? Been there and struggle just like you.

In a personal Devotionals Daily, there was an insight into the world of HOPE with this quote "Most of the great heroes of the Bible faced their greatest temptations near the end of the pilgrimage rather than in the beginning." (unnamed author). Just imagine what the Bible characters went through; for example Moses with the ridicule he faced and his stuttering. Yet he lead the people from Israel out of Egypt, across the red sea and he also received the ten commandments from God. Prophet Elijah challenged false gods of Baal, and challenged Jezebel and Ahab. David truly faced the greatest temptation to run before he faced Goliath and killed him. He was later anointed to be a King.

What about you? Are you struggling with increasing challenges in your life? Are you broke, frustrated, feeling lonely and facing obstacles in your life? You are not alone! We all face obstacles of some for or another in this lifetime. They come in all shapes and sizes.

The word Hope means a confident expectation over what God has promised for you. Yes, there is going to be struggles and challenges. Just like the shaping of David to kill Goliath was a plan of God, He is currently (!) shaping you to complete what you are about to do. There will be obstacles. That's a guarantee. There will be struggles. Expect it to build resilience in you. With faith, just like in the story of David and Goliath, there also will be a great temptation near the end of the pilgrimage. Yes, you still can!

You can not do it alone. You can do it with God at the helm. The hope is through God, the Creator and the King! As he shaped David to kill the giant Goliath, He is shaping you to overcome the obstacles you face. Hope, trust and faith in Him. You can through Him! Be blessed, warrior!
