62. R U Called to Serve? Hospitality Needed in this Season of Celebration

Do you have a servants heart? It can mean smiling and encouraging others. Perhaps you open the door for others to go in before you. You might invite others for a meal or special time together. Do you, by any chance, notice the ones in the corner, alone? Or the ones somewhere, crouched outside, pleading for change with their cardboard signs? Imagine; just imagine being there! Perhaps some of you have had the experience of being without money, food or a place to stay.

Having a servants heart doesn't mean you are rich or have the financial means to support someone. Are you being a servant by serving others? 1 Peter 1:12 states "it was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you... ." What this means is when you serve others in whatever capacity, you are serving the Lord. He sees it. The King sees the servants heart; a heart that serves, loves and prays for others. Luke 6:38 clarifies "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." The reality is that the more you serve, the less you hurt. When you serve out of your own hurts, you are allowing your hurt to be exposed to the divine Healer for His work to be completed in you. The Lord loves the heart of a servant.

What the writing meant was to place a desire in you to serve; to shake hands, hug, smile, encourage, guide, open doors, give someone your place; bring them drinks or what they need at that moment. Model your servants heart through the Lord. When someone reacts in a nasty way, remain loving and caring. They are doing it out of their own hurts. When they are ready to approach you, they need to step upward and reach into your higher level of caring. When they reach that higher level, treat them with a servants heart. You both grow.

There are times in your life, when you simply need someone to talk and release your hurts to. If this is you, please reach out and connect with a private and confidential session. Bless you during this special time in your life! Please mark 'like' if you liked it and share!
