60. Is your Thought Life a Problem?

Are you unaccepting because you were not accepted? What about unforgiving because you were not forgiven? Are you ungracious because you were ungraced at some point in your life? Been there with both questions asked and can easily return. How about you?

Accept because you have been accepted ... Matthew 10:8 "... freely you have received, freely give." When I look at the bigger picture, I recognize the richness surrounding us all; wealth of this land in comparison to the countries that are war-torn or experiencing poverty or famine. - There is also pain through brokenness within families of any educational or income levels. The pain often is lived down through generations because of being judged and unaccepted - as well as acting unforgiving and ungracious as a result. Hurting people hurt other people. How can you stop the hurt? You have a choice to make in all things.

How can you be different and stop the cycle of hurt in your family, friends and loved ones? It can start within you! Choose to be wise! Sensible individuals control their temper and try to overlook wrongs; Proverbs 19:11, "The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger and his glory is to overlook transgression." The discretion! You can choose to do onto others as you would like them to do to you; Luke 6:31,"and just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise." Choose to avoid letting anger control you as it will draw you to bitterness; Ephesians 4:26-27, "be angry and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil." Reactionary anger can also lead you to great harm. Psalm 27:8, "when You said,'seek my face; my heart said to you 'Your face, Lord, I will seek.'" Focus on the Father instead! Ephesians 4:31-32 states "let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice. And be kind to one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." He forgave you and loves you.

You, beautiful one, are being asked to model the seven fruits of the Spirit. You are being asked to model them, live in them - even as you are with people you have difficulty being with. You are also being asked to act like Jesus would. When your thought life aligns with the loving words of the Bible verse you just read, you then can choose to live, act and breath through Him. It isn't easy. The rewards are eternal and truly heavenly!
