56. Is there a Way Out from Your Situation? Talk to the Divine Listener!

Long ago, when much younger and before I became a believer, I had to make a crucial decision. I barely survived a massive, life-altering accident and wanted to end my life because there was no way out. At least that's how I saw it. The Lord saw it differently. I became determined to die and chose and planned what was going to happen. I was stopped on my tracks for doing so. It was an angel that held me back for three hours as I fought against him from falling down a mountain onto the rocks or to the lake below me.

This story and the connection that occurred out of it began a profound change in my life. I finally knew beyond a shadow of a doubt there is a God. I understood there was a purpose He created for me. First I had to learn to let go; to die to my own pride and self control and let God be God. John 12:25 promises "He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep for eternal life." Regarding the temptations, I also learned and kept close to me the Father's promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13 "God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able..." I have leaned on that promise since then.

This was a story of not or believing or listening to God. Later I understood that God will make a way when there seems to be no way. There seemed to be no way. What about you? Have you been in the place of no way out and having to make a crucial, life-altering decision? Have you tried to figure it all out on your own, just like I did? What was the outcome?

Are you willing to pray during your time of struggle? Does it feel He never hears or answers you? Psalm 66:19 "but certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayers." Ask Him to, Psalm 139:23-24, "search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way of everlasting." He is there in good or bad times. He is there when your world is upside down, and you are unsure or hurting. He was the one who created you, knows you inside and out, knows your thoughts and has plans for you. Not until I gave up my selfishness and pride was the Creator able to go forward with His amazing healing power. Romans 8:28 "and we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Didn't like hearing it but grew to love it.

His love is everlasting, always available and loving. You are encouraged to ask His opinion and guidance in all things. His way is the one and only way to eternal life in heaven.
