55. Turning Your World Upside Down

Upside down? What does this mean? It means you let your soul rule your life instead of the spirit. Your soul rules through the mind, will and emotions. It's about using the right side; the emotional side of the brain to rule. Decisions are based on feelings and often not what the Lord is saying. It may feel good and yet it's not fruitful. You are being filled with the spirit and without direction to follow. Proverbs 14:6 warns "a scoffer seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge is easy to one who has understanding." Wisdom is needed.

When you use both sides of the brain you will sense what the Lord is saying. Intentionally going to the thinking part of your brain involves simply focusing on anything involving calculation or anything organized based on planning or thinking. Many need to be intentional about using both sides. When you are emotional and need to focus, you could sit up straight, think of something concrete or even quickly count to 30 in threes! This action will switch you into the logical part of your brain. When you are able to keep your mind focused on the direction given then you are able to follow His guidance; thoughtfully, clearly and lovingly. Isaiah 43:2 "When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you."

Emotions allow you to show compassion, be creative and loving. Being able to notice when you are becoming emotional and balancing this out by thinking or doing something concrete allows focus to return to you. Proverbs 2:10 states "for wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;" Is this important? Yes! John 15:7 "if you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." Vow! You are being encouraged to use all of the brilliant brain you were given.

Living your life in a balanced fashion is what is asked of us all. For many who are emotional thinkers, being aware of how to turn into your thinking mind produces benefit and a blessing. Psalm 50:15 "Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver your, and you shall glorify Me." Balanced thoughts and emotions produce many blessings!
